Written by Mandy Connell, this track features an opening ambience from Alysia Manceau's Gretsch and features BV's from Layla Fibbins (Sideshow Brides).
The song was first performed on stage with Stephen Taberner (Spooky Men's Chorale) and Kirsty Bromley (UK) at the National Folk Festival in 2016 and again there in 2017. It will feature on Connell's upcomign release, "The Girl Who Fell Off The Wall".
It is written from life- but not about a specific relationship. Connell says that it contains feelings about, and references to conversations with a couple of people.
I don't want to bring you down,
go about your business in the world tonight
We both know it's not that special
I am not the keeping kind
Go about your business in the world tonight
Send me notes from time to time
Go about your business in the world tonight
Tell me all the ways you travel,
all the roads I am not down
Go about your business in the world tonight
Without a narrative, there's no story to tell
Without a song in the line there's no reason to tell them at all...
I don't want to bring you down,
go about your business in the world tonight
We both know it's not that special
I am not the keeping kind
Go about your business in the world tonight
